Did Stephen Nedoroscik make it to the finals of ‘DWTS’? Who went home

play

Stephen Nedoroscik weathered a shaky performance and a glasses accident during the semifinals of “Dancing with the Stars” to secure a spot in the show’s finals next week.

The Olympic bronze medalist from Worcester, Massachusetts, danced in the eighth competition round of the show last night.

For Tuesday’s show, each star performed two routines in styles they haven’t done before, including a Latin American-style dance and a ballroom-style dance.

For their first dance, Nedoroscik and his professional partner Rylee Arnold danced a cha cha, and their second dance was a tango.

Before Nedoroscik found out he would be advancing to the show’s finals, he said he was in competition mode.

“The inner athlete inside me is screaming that I have to make that final,” Nedoroscik said. “So my strategy going forward is to leverage what I did at the Olympics – no holding back now.”

Here’s how he did it.

What songs did Stephen Nedoroscik dance to last night on ‘DWTS’?

For their first dance of the evening, Stephen Nedoroscik and his partner Rylee Arnold danced a cha cha to “Bailar” by Deorro ft. Elvis Crespo.

Arnold said she wanted Nedoroscik to bring out his sexy side during the dance, which he struggled with.

“You know, feeling sexy isn’t really my thing,” Nedoroscik said.

The judges said the dance was not his strongest and criticized his unsteady footwork.

“Here’s the best part: You have a second dance tonight,” judge Derek Hough said. “So come back tonight (in the) second dance and show us that you deserve to be in that final.”

For their second dance, Nedoroscik and Arnold danced a tango to “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap.

“Stephen has an advantage with the tango over the cha cha because he has insane upper body strength and that is so good for the frame while dancing,” Arnold said.

For the first time this season, Nedoroscik chose to keep his glasses on during the dance. He has eye conditions that hinder his vision, but usually competes without eye conditions so they don’t fall off.

During the tango, Nedoroscik’s glasses became crooked and subsequently fell off his face, but he did not stop during the dance to straighten them, which the judges praised.

“That throws off your depth perception worse than what you’re already going through,” said Carrie Ann Inaba. “What I’m so impressed with is that you didn’t stop, you did something that not many people could do – you kept going.”

How did Stephen Nedoroscik score on ‘DWTS’ last night?

Stephen Nedoroscik scored a 53/60 on “Dancing with the Stars” last night.

For his cha cha, Nedoroscik earned a 25/30, with Bruno Tonioli giving him a nine and Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough giving him an eight.

For his tango, Nedoroscik scored 28/30, with Carrie Ann Inaba giving him a ten and Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli giving him a nine.

He came in last place for the night.

Who was eliminated from ‘DWTS’ last night?

On last night’s episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’, none of the remaining stars were eliminated. All five advanced to next week’s finale episode.

The jury scores and viewer votes from the semi-final will carry over to next week and count towards each star’s final total.
