Disney Channel star expecting first child

The Disney Channel alum and new mom is expecting with her boyfriend.

Calling all “Jessie” fans! The youngest of the Ross clan becomes a mother.

Skai Jackson, who played Zuri Ross on the Disney Channel sitcom starring Debby Ryan, revealed she is pregnant with her first child in a statement to People magazine released Tuesday.

Jackson, 22, is pregnant with her boyfriend, who has not been publicly identified.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter in my life: embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects,” Jackson told the outlet. “My heart is so full!”

Jackson’s pregnancy follows the actress’ recent brush with the law. Jackson was arrested on Aug. 9 on suspicion of domestic battery, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY at the time. The former child star was arrested while performing at Universal Studios Hollywood after it was determined she was “the primary aggressor” in the domestic incident.

According to TMZ, Universal Studios security personnel reportedly alerted police after seeing Jackson push her boyfriend more than once. Authorities then reviewed surveillance footage from the LA theme park, which reportedly showed Jackson pushing the unidentified victim, according to People magazine and the Los Angeles Times.

No injuries were reported following the altercation, the LASD spokesperson told USA TODAY. Jackson was taken to LASD’s West Hollywood station for booking and released a few hours later.

In a 2023 interview with People magazine, Jackson indicated that being a role model comes with “a lot of pressure,” telling the magazine, “At the end of the day, I think of myself as the regular person that people just happen to like.” or enjoy.”

“It’s very important for me to deliver the right message, be positive at all times and give my fans good advice,” Jackson added. “Let them know that anything they set out to do in life, they can achieve.”

Jackson’s last role was an appearance in the 2023 thriller “The Man in the White Van,” directed by Warren Skeels.
