The Dodgers enter NLCS Game 4 against the New York Mets with a 2-1 series lead Thursday night, leaving some LA fans cautious but confident after the team’s 8-0 loss to the Mets in Game 3.

The Boys in Blue opened the National League Championship Series on Sunday night with a win at home in Game 1, but New York tied the series the next day in Game 2. However, Los Angeles took the lead on Wednesday night while the team was on the road to an 8-0 victory with Shohei Ohtani launching a three-run home run while they played at Citi Field in Queens.

As the Dodgers take on the Mets again in New York City, fans at home in LA are clinging to the hope of an even bigger lead.

“Last night they were impressed. Thank God,” said Elsa Roldan as she visited Mother Made Donuts in Whittier, where pastries were glazed and dressed as baseballs with the iconic LA logan. “We were a little scared.”

Roldan was among the fans who grew concerned after the Dodgers lost Game 2, just before the team traveled across the country to play the Mets’ home in New York City. But she said she’s feeling much better after Wednesday night’s win.

“So tonight, you know, they’re going to go all out,” she said.

Max Muncy, who hit his 13th postseason home run in Game 3 to give LA an 8-0 lead and tie a franchise record, said the team is ready to rise to the occasion as they enter Game 4, according to the MLB .

“I think the most important thing is that we have a good attitude when it comes to how to handle the postseason atmosphere,” Muncy said. “We have a lot of guys who are built for this moment, and you saw that.”

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team remains ready – home field advantage or not.

“These guys are locked up,” Roberts said. “And they understand that they have a job to do to prevent runs. And I think we play good defense, too. That’s a big part of it.”
