Donald Trump confirms Elise Stefanik’s role as US ambassador to the UN

Stefanik is best known for making headlines in December 2023, where she participated in a high-profile congressional hearing with the presidents of Harvard, MIT and the University of Pennsylvania to address anti-Semitism on campus and general feelings of lack of knowledge. safety for Jewish students.

In May, she spoke at a Sunday meeting of the Knesset Caucus for Jewish and pro-Israel students on campuses around the world, declaring, “There is no excuse for an American president to block aid to Israel.”

Stefanik openly supported Israel and the fight against Hamas and anti-Semitism. “That is why I have sponsored or supported every measure to help Israel that has come before the U.S. Congress – every single one of them.”

It was also why Stefanik has for years been, as she describes herself, “a leading supporter and partner of (former) President (Donald) Trump in his historic support for Israeli independence and security.”

According to Stefanik, the battle against Hamas was one of “good versus evil, civilization versus barbarism, and humanity versus depravity.” She said the majority of American citizens supported Israel.

Criticism of Biden

Under Joe Biden’s presidency, Stefanik was highly critical of his administration’s foreign policy.

In April, during a news conference of Republican leaders in the House of Representatives, she outlined the party’s points of contention regarding Biden’s dealings with Russia, Iran, China and Afghanistan.

“The world is less safe under Joe Biden,” Stefanik said. “His desperate policy of appeasement has left our nation and our allies vulnerable to attack.”

Stefanik said America’s enemies are not afraid of recourse because of Joe Biden, and that the US should return to former President Donald Trump’s “peace through strength” policy, which Republicans in the House of Representatives proudly support.
