Draymond Green stirs the pot after Grant Williams’ Flagrant on Jayson Tatum

Celtics fans may have changed their minds about Grant Williams after Friday night and may also have agreed with a famous Boston villain.

The final minutes of the C’s 124-109 victory turned frantic as Williams trucked Jayson Tatum as the All-NBA star dribbled the ball down the court. Both the Celtics and Charlotte Hornets got in each other’s faces, and Williams was ejected from the game after being ruled a flagrant 2.

Jaylen Brown threw a shot at his former teammate, who claimed there was no foul play in his foul on Tatum. Draymond Green didn’t believe it.

“Grant Williams saying it wasn’t an intentional foul on JT’s part is crazy. And he laughs about it,” Green posted on X early Saturday morning.

It was ironic that the Golden State Warriors star came forward considering he was part of multiple incidents of a similar nature. You could twist and interpret it because he is an expert in this field. He didn’t waste his chance to take another swing at Williams.

“To think that a blind slap ‘on ya mans’ is an insult worthy of a smile means one of two things,” Green said. “You either have zero consciousness or you’re a weirdo…. And both make you a weirdo… weirdo.”

Williams and Green have a strange relationship. The two shared praise or took shots at each other several times, with Williams even admitting that he tried to emulate his play after the four-time NBA champion. Perhaps it was the pursuit of a championship that ignited Williams against Boston.

“He was mad at JT about something lol,” Green said along with a ring and shocked face emojis. “He was supposed to keep it in Boston, lol. JT got a ring and dude let out his frustrations about it.

It’s hard not to believe that Williams has seen every social media post from the 2024 NBA Finals between the Celtics and Dallas Mavericks, two teams he played for before finishing the season with the Hornets. So Green may have a legitimate point, but Boston fans may not want to admit it.
