Duke Energy is issuing estimated times for power restoration

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – With 16,000 employees and many crews working around the clock, Duke Energy Florida has released estimated restoration times for customers affected by Hurricane Milton.

While some customers will have power restored sooner than others, the majority of affected homes and businesses are expected to be restored by the following days/times:

  • Sunday, October 13 at 11:59 PM / Counties of Brevard, Citrus, Hernando, Highlands, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia
  • Tuesday, October 15 at 11:59 PM / Pasco and Pinellas Counties
  • TRACK POWER OUTAGE NUMBERS IN THE BAY AREA

“We want to ease our customers’ concerns and reassure them that power will be restored within days (not weeks),” said Todd Fountain, storm director for Duke Energy Florida. “We thank our team for their hard work and dedication to meet these estimated recovery times, our local officials and first responders for their support, and our customers for their continued patience.”

Customers can report power outages in four different ways:

  • Visit duke-energy.com on a desktop computer or mobile device.
  • Use the Duke Energy mobile app (download from a smartphone via Apple Store or Google Play).
  • Text OUT to 57801 (standard text and data charges may apply).
  • Call the automated outage reporting system at 800.228.8485.

In addition, customers who are unable to obtain power due to damage to the customer’s meter reading, circuit breaker panel, or electrical wiring should contact their local municipality for advice. After repairs are completed, inspections may be necessary.

The most up-to-date information about power outages can be found on Duke Energy’s outage map or by signing up for outage alerts.
