PHILADELPHIA— Lane Johnson told the cautionary tale of the 2023 season late Thursday night after the Eagles capped off their short week by recording a sixth straight victory, following another brutal defensive effort that left the betting favorite for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year looking simply like a rookie.

“No matter how well things go, I want people to remember last year,” Johnson said after an offensive surge in the fourth quarter allowed the Eagles to pull away for a 26-18 victory over the Washington Commanders. “You’re 10-1 and you get that feeling of complacency. You can quickly find out that this league is going to kick you on the ass if you let it.”
