EasyJet launches brand new flights from regional airports this year for just £24

Passengers in Yorkshire will soon be able to book a city break to the French capital, with new flights departing from Leeds Bradford from October this year.

The bi-weekly service will start on Mondays and Fridays, from October 28, and will run throughout the winter until March 28 next year.

Tickets for the flights are on sale now and can be booked via the airline’s website from £23.99.

Tom Holdsworth, Leeds Bradford’s aviation development manager, said the new flights are a sign of increased demand for European flights from the airport.

He told the Telegraph and Argus: “Paris is one of the most iconic cities in the world and this addition to our growing network reflects the increasing demand from holidaymakers in the region to visit some of Europe’s most sought-after destinations.”

EasyJet also has plans for several weekly flights from Leeds Bradford to Geneva in Switzerland.

They will fly for a period of six weeks, starting on January 18, 2025.

The new services are part of the short-term future for Leeds Bradford, but the airport also has a number of ambitious long-term plans.

Recently, CEO Vincent Hodder announced that discussions are underway with airlines about the possibility of connecting the airport to more distant destinations for the first time in history.

According to Vincent, discussions are being held with airlines about long-haul flights to, for example, America and the Middle East.

Proposed new destinations include cities such as New York, Boston and Chicago, with Jeddah, Oman and Dubai also in the spotlight.

Hodder told the BBC: “We’re already in discussions with airlines from North America and the Middle East about how we can work together to make these things happen over the next two to three years.

“I would be disappointed if we no longer have flights to North America and the Middle East in 2027.”

Leeds Bradford isn’t the only small airport to get new easyJet flights this year. Three new routes have been launched to Southend.

Flights will soon be available to Reus and Almeria in Spain, as well as Malta, all from the regional travel hub in Essex.

New flight routes launched from the UK

Leeds Bradford will also get new Jet2 routes next year as part of the airline’s ‘biggest’ ever winter city break programme.

Destinations include Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Krakow, Paris, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Venice.

Flights are available from various airports across the country, including East Midlands, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Passengers from Manchester Airport will be able to fly to Porto twice a week from November 2025.

There will also be new flights from Glasgow Airport, with three destinations: Rome, Krakow and Prague.

The same cities are available from Newcastle.

The new routes will launch next spring, with first flights scheduled for March 2025.

Tickets for these flights can now also be purchased.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer ten new routes from our new base at London Southend Airport, which we look forward to opening next spring.

“Since we began operating in 2012, we have flown more than seven million customers from London Southend and whether they are flying for business or pleasure, we look forward to welcoming even more of them on board.”
