Election 2024 live updates: Trump wins Arizona, completing a stunning sweep of all swing states

Donald Trump praises ‘ice cream girl’ Susie Wiles after historic election victory

Donald Trump has officially won Arizona, the last state to be declared in the 2024 elections, giving the Republican a clean sweep of all seven swing states.

The result brings Trump’s final electoral vote total to 312, compared to Kamala Harris’ 226.

Trump previously announced that two of his former Cabinet members — former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo — would not be invited to serve in his administration this time.

Trump announced the decision on Truth Social on Saturday evening, days after announcing that Susie Wiles, his campaign manager, would serve as chief of staff.

With election results still coming in, control of the House of Representatives is still up for grabs, but Republicans have already regained control of the Senate.

Three Republicans in the Senate are vying to replace Mitch McConnell as leader of the House: John Cornyn, John Thune and Rick Scott. The election will take place on November 13.

Earlier Saturday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that President Joe Biden and Trump would meet at the White House this week, setting in motion transition plans between the administrations of the two long-standing political enemies .

Susie Wiles’ demands for accepting Trump’s top role in the White House were revealed

Susie Wiles, the newly appointed chief of staff in Trump’s second White House, has reportedly made a series of demands before accepting the high-profile role in the newly elected president’s incoming administration.

The 66-year-old Wiles, described by Trump himself as the “ice girl” and considered one of the most important influences on his third campaign, was named to the top job on Thursday.

Historically, the chief of staff is the first appointee appointed by the president-elect and is charged with overseeing all policies and day-to-day affairs of the White House.

But according to a source close to both Wiles and Trump, the former campaign chairman had sought assurances from the newly elected president before taking on the role.

The source said Wiles wanted confirmation that she would have more authority than her predecessors in controlling access to the Oval Office before accepting the job.
