Elon Musk had a ‘huge fallout’ with Trump aide Boris Epshteyn

A Trump transition source is denying a report that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had a “huge outburst” during a dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

Axios alleged that Musk, who was named co-head of a new advisory body known as the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), feuded with Boris Epshteyn, a special assistant to Trump, during his first term in 2017.

Last Wednesday, tension between the two men reportedly reached a boiling point at Trump’s Florida estate. Dinner guests witnessed a “huge explosion” and a “huge explosion” when Musk lashed out at Epshteyn over tipping off the media, the outlet reported.

But a source on the transition team said this was not true.

“People familiar with both Elon and Boris state unequivocally that the entire story is complete and utter nonsense, which Axios is known for. The two have worked very well together and are both focused on assisting President Trump in Making America Great Again,” they said. said.

Musk has also managed to ingratiate himself with key figures, including Tucker Carlson, newly elected Vice President JD Vance, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump and Kai Trump – the newly elected president’s 17-year-old granddaughter, according to Axios.

But the old hands who have been with Trump for years are reportedly annoyed by Musk’s continued presence at Mar-a-Lago and at Trump Force One.

A Trump World source told NBC News last week that Musk is “acting like he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows.”

According to Axios, Musk has complained that Epshteyn had too much influence on Trump’s recent choices, including the controversial selection of Matt Gaetz as attorney general.

Trump also appointed longtime Republican lawyer William McGinley as his White House counsel — another move that furthers Epshteyn’s influence, the report said.

Todd Blanche and Emil Bove, two of Trump’s lawyers, also received senior positions at the Justice Department.

Musk’s appeal to Trump will be tested when the newly elected president ultimately decides on a nominee for Treasury Secretary.

Howard Lutnick, the Trump transition leader who was thought to be the top candidate for the job, has reportedly dropped back from the race — prompting Musk to publicly endorse Cantor Fitzgerald’s boss.

Scott Bessent, the former money manager of liberal billionaire financier George Soros, is under consideration, as are former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh and Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan.
