OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Storms will be building along a cold front tonight. The storms along the front could be strong at times with the threat of a hail storm or two. As of 5:30 p.m., this front is mostly clear of the metro, meaning the severe threat will be minimal for the rest of the night in our metro counties.

The storm line will move southeast during the night, with a drier and cooler evening afterwards, until after 10 p.m.

Storms are likely Saturday night through Sunday morning. Heavy rain is possible, with the heaviest rainfall generally occurring south of I-80.

Rain chances begin to taper off Sunday afternoon, but scattered showers are still possible into early Monday morning. We’ll end up with totals north of I-80 between .5″-.1″ and south of I-80 up to 2.5″. The metro is likely to get between .25″-1″.

Sunday will be a much cooler day! Highs will be in the mid to high 60s at midnight. We will cool down to the mid to low 50s by 7-8am and then struggle to warm up under the clouds. Afternoon temperatures will remain in the 60s for most.
