Lawrence Dallaglio

Dallaglio has followed in the footsteps of Wilkinson and Dawson and has become a well-known rugby pundit, covering the Rugby World Cup on ITV in 2011.

He is also known for his philanthropic efforts, having founded the Lawrence Dallaglio Foundation, an organization that aims to empower youth through sports and supports teen cancer charities by raising money.

Ben Cohen

Cohen finished his rugby career with Sale Sharks, having previously represented Northampton Saints and French club Brive. An inspirational activist, the former winger founded The Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation in 2011, which raises awareness of the effects of bullying and “does real-world work to stop it”. Cohen is a leading activist for LGBTQ+ rights and was inducted into the National Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Due to a hearing problem called tinnitus, Cohen is clinically deaf. He has lost around 30% of his hearing in both ears and is a campaigner for better accessibility within rugby for the hearing impaired. Cohen met his partner Kristina Rihanoff on the TV show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and the couple have since had a daughter together. Cohen has appeared in numerous reality TV shows including The Jump, The Celebrity Chase and has worked with the charity Sports Relief.

Steve Thompson

Since retiring from playing, two of England’s triumphant 2003 front-rowers have taken different paths. Hooker Thompson opted for a change of lifestyle and moved to Dubai. At 45, he took on ambassadorial roles for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation and was appointed sports ambassador for Transguard, a security and facilities management services company.

However, Thompson’s journey took a harrowing turn when he was diagnosed with early-stage dementia in December 2020. In a telling gesture, on September 23, 2021, he publicly expressed his desire to donate his brain to research into chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

Jason Robinson

The dual-code legend, regarded as one of England’s finest wingers in history, left an indelible mark by scoring his team’s only try against Australia on that historic occasion. He has since returned to rugby league in a coaching role, serving as joint operations manager for the Jamaica national team.
