The “Dark Knight” actor opened up about the public feud with his fellow actor and brother in his new memoir, “Runaway Train.” According to People , the memoir also includes what he calls a “public apology” to Julia Roberts.

Roberts’ memoir, “Runaway Train: Or, The Story of My Life So Far,” is titled after the 1985 film for which he co-starred with Jon Voight and won a Golden Globe and an Oscar, and the film was released Monday.

According to the outlet, the “Dancing with the Stars” Season 33 star described an “unsafe” childhood with her parents, Walter Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Roberts said his father was a “messed up person” and jealous of his career. After their parents’ divorce, Eric Roberts reportedly lived with their father, while Julia Roberts lived with their mother, who remarried.

Roberts details his early career, including “Runaway Train” and turning down the role of Jesus in 1988’s “The Last Temptation of Christ,” which was also his last chance to work with legendary director Martin Scorsese. Elsewhere, he describes how drug abuse, a 1981 car crash and subsequent days-long coma affected his memory. It was also during this time that Julia Roberts began her acting career and would later overshadow his fame, prompting comments from Eric Roberts such as, “If it weren’t for me, there wouldn’t be a Julia Roberts.”
