ESPN aired a historical version of College GameDay during week 9, having a great time in Bloomington, Indiana for the first time Washington visiting undefeated Indiana.

The former Hoosiers baseball player joined the crew on Saturday as a Celebrity Guest Picker and became a World Series champion Kyle Schwarber. The current Major League Baseball slugger and multiple All Star played on the diamond for Indiana, mostly starring with his bat, and helped lead Indiana to an appearance in the College World Series in 2013, its only appearance in school history.

Plus, it was a special morning for Lee Corso, who was returning home for the first time after coaching Indiana from 1973-82 and going 41-68-2 as head coach. Corso’s tenure included a No. 19 final AP Poll ranking in 1979 and a Holiday Bowl victory, and in 2024 he was finally able to College GameDay to Bloomington.

ESPN College GameDay Picks for Week 9:

Washington in Indiana: Kurtis Rourke is out, will that be enough to stifle the Hoosiers offense? Howard and Herbstreit are on the Huskies, while Saban, McAfee, Schwarber and Corso rock with Indiana on a historic afternoon.

LSU at Texas A&M: Herbstreit doesn’t pick the play just because he calls it, but the rest of the team is split, with Howard, Saban and McAfee on the Tigers, while Scharber and Corso are on the Aggies.

Texas at Vanderbilt: This game has some surprising features, but there’s no one on the set who would go so far as to pick the Commodores in Week 9.

BYU at UCF: The Cougars are a surprise underdog in Orlando, and Corso is the only one who thinks they won’t pull off an upset as he rides with the Knights.

Cincinnati-Colorado: A huge Big 12 battle between the Bearcats and Coach Prime’s bunch, and the entire squad is on the Buffaloes in Boulder.

Penn State in Wisconsin: Will someone pick the Badgers? The answer is no, as the entire crew rides with the Nittany Lions.

Illinois in Oregon: Everyone is on the top team in the country and rides with the Ducks.

Missouri in Alabama: Can the Crimson Tide avoid a demoralizing third loss? The entire crew believes in them to get it done against the Tigers.

Notre Dame vs. Navy: The Fighting Irish will take on the Midshipmen in a huge game at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. McAfee and Schwarber are in the Navy, while the rest of the crew rocks with Notre Dame.
