    Another Tree Hill, North Carolina resident is moving to Seattle!

    In October 2024, Sophia Bush confirmed she would be joining the cast of the long-running drama Grey’s anatomy by posting a video on her Instagram account in scrubs. “I just wasn’t done with my scrubs yet 💙 @greysabc,” she wrote alongside the video.

    Bush will play the recurring role of Dr. Playing Cass Beckman in the 21st season of the iconic medical drama.

    As she alluded to in her Instagram caption, this isn’t the first time Bush has performed in the confines of a hospital. She starred as a heart surgeon in the 2022 CBS show Good Sam. Likewise, Bush is not the first One Tree Hill cast member to play a role in Grey’s anatomy.

    For seasons 1 through 6, Hilarie Burton played Morgan Peyton Sawyer One Tree Hill. After 130 episodes of the WB-turned-CW drama, Burton moved on to other projects, including Grey’s anatomy. Burton played Dr. Lauren Boswell in a three-episode arc in 2013. Her character, a craniofacial surgeon who came to Gray Sloan Memorial to consult on a case, appears in season 9. But her tenure there was far from drama-free: Lauren was in a romantic relationship with Dr. Arizona Robbins.

    More than nine seasons as the main character One Tree HillLenz played Hayley James Scott in 187 episodes. After the show wrapped in 2012, Lenz took on roles Right, Agents of SHIELDand multiple Hallmark movies.

    Actress and singer Jana Kramer joined One Tree Hill in season 7, and continued through season 9, as Alex Dupre. But before joining the iconic cast, Kramer starred in two episodes of Grayin which she played Lola in season 4, episodes 16 and 17. Kramer’s character accompanied her boyfriend to the hospital after he jumped into a vat of cement in an attempt to impress her.
