FACTS AND STATISTICS: Mercedes takes 60th one-two, while Max Verstappen becomes F1’s sixth four-time champion

• Hamilton has now finished on the podium at 36 different circuits, further extending the F1 record he already held.

• Tonight’s result was Mercedes’ 60th one-two in their constructors’ history, and their first since Sao Paulo 2022 (they lost a one-two in Belgium earlier this year due to Russell’s aforementioned disqualification).

• Carlos Sainz finished P3 for Ferrari – his third top-two finish in the last four Grands Prix.

• Teammate Charles Leclerc took P4 and is the top scorer in the races in the United States this season with 64 points).

• After crossing the line in P5, Max Verstappen became the sixth driver in F1 history to win four (or more) world championships, after Juan-Manuel Fangio, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton.

• Verstappen wins the championship in Las Vegas together with Nelson Piquet (1981) and Keke Rosberg (1982).

• Verstappen won the title in Vegas by finishing P5, just like Piquet – his girlfriend’s father – in 1981.

• Verstappen won the championship on Saturday evening for the second year in a row (he won the championship at last year’s F1 Sprint in Qatar).

• He has led the Drivers’ Championship continuously since May 22, 2022, the longest streak in F1 history.

• Red Bull scored for the 65th race in a row today, the second longest streak in history (Ferrari scored 83 times in a row from 2010 to 2014).
