Fans are taking issue with NFL rules after Ravens interception was overturned

NFL fans weren’t too happy with the officials’ decision to overturn an interception by Brandon Stephens late in the first half of Thursday night’s battle between the Bengals and Ravens.

Joe Burrow was looking for a receiver in the end zone, but Stephens baited the Bengals quarterback and then came in front of the pass for what looked like an interception.

There was some doubt as to whether he had been able to make the catch and after the officials reviewed the play it was ruled an incomplete pass as he did not get two feet deep into the ball.

Although the replay appeared to confirm that decision, football fans were angry that one foot could come down twice and argued that it should have counted for a catch.

“SAME FOOT TWICE = TWO FEET,” Warren Sharp wrote on X.

“Terrible f–king call, another game-changing wrong call that completely changes the game and they score a TD Every. Single. Week. Bad calls after bad calls,” another person wrote on social media.

‘How many feet does he need? Three? Four?” a third person asked.

“The NFL officials overturning Brandon Stephens’ interception is absolute madness. I hate this sport,” chimed in another X-user.

To add insult to injury for the Ravens, the Bengals scored with 30 seconds left in the half when Burrow completed a short three-yard pass to Tanner Hudson to take a 14-7 lead after the extra point.

Thus, the Bengals and Ravens entered the locker room at halftime, and Cincinnati extended its lead to two touchdowns after scoring early in the third quarter before the Ravens attempted a comeback.

But the Ravens stormed back with a strong second half to win a thriller 35-34.
