Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez has been placed on the 15-day injured list with lower back soreness. The move is retroactive to July 24, while left-hander Kolby Allard has been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Suarez’s spot on the 26-man roster. The 28-year-old has been one of the biggest fantasy surprises this season, as he has worked to a 2.87 ERA to go along with a 10-5 record and a stellar 18.5% K-BB% in 20 starts and 119 1/3 innings of work.

Allard, for his part, has not yet pitched in the major leagues this season and has had a rough season in the minors, posting a 5.60 ERA in 19 games (13 starts) split between Double-A and Triple-A. He has a career 6.10 ERA in 245 innings in the majors.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle (finger) left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants early with a bruised finger. Frustrated after being thrown out in the first inning, Doyle threw a towel at a sweatsuit, but Doyle also hit the sweatsuit and injured his finger. It’s a bizarre injury, but apparently not serious, as Doyle was listed as day-to-day.

Fantasy managers are hoping the star player can return to the starting line-up for Tuesday’s match, but they will have to check the latest news and adjust their line-ups accordingly.

New York Mets starting pitcher Kodai Senga (calf) was moved to the 60-day injured list Sunday to make room for newly acquired outfielder Jesse Winker, according to Newsday’s Tim Healey. Senga made his season debut Friday, July 26, after missing the entire first half with shoulder and triceps injuries.

The right-handed pitcher looked pretty sharp as he threw five ⅓ innings of two-run ball, striking out nine. Unfortunately, he left the game early with a calf injury and was ultimately ruled out for the remainder of the regular season on Saturday. Senga could still return for the postseason, but that seems unlikely at this point given the extent of his calf injury. Tylor Megill should have a strong chance to remain in the rotation for the remainder of the second half as a result.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session on Friday.

The right-handed pitcher is working to recover from a rotator cuff problem that has sidelined him since mid-June. Yoshinobu is expected to need a few throwing sessions before beginning a rehabilitation assignment. If all goes well, Yamamoto could be back in the Dodgers’ rotation by late August.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Walker Buehler (hip) looked less than stellar in his first minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday night, surrendering four earned runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out three in four innings of work. On top of the ailing line, Buehler’s fastball averaged just 93.5 mph, which isn’t a good sign. He’s made his return from Tommy John surgery this year, only to go 1-4 with a 5.84 ERA (6.04 FIP) and 1.51 WHIP with 31 strikeouts and 10 walks in 37 innings over eight starts.

The Dodgers placed the 29-year-old on the 15-day injured list before the All-Star break and kept him out of the team to work on his mechanics. It’s likely Buehler will make a few more starts in the minors before the Dodgers feel comfortable playing him against big-league hitters again. (MiLB.com)

The Atlanta Braves announced that starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez left his start early as a precaution due to a tight right forearm and is listed as day-to-day. The right-handed pitcher left Sunday’s game against the New York Mets after pitching three innings with three hits and a walk and striking out two.

Lopez is 7-4 this season with a 2.12 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. The fact that the Braves are considering the move as a precaution is a good sign, but fantasy managers will still need to monitor follow-up news after Lopez has had a chance to be examined. The Braves and fantasy managers cannot afford to lose Lopez for an extended period of time.

Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jared Jones (lat) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session on Saturday. Jones said he felt good after his bullpen session, having thrown from a mound for the first time since July 4. The Pirates rookie right-hander’s velocity was around 93-95 mph and he used all four pitches in his arsenal during the bullpen session.

He’ll pitch again on Monday and face live hitters on next week’s road trip in Houston. Jones has a 3.56 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 98:27 K:BB in 91 innings through 2024. Fantasy managers should continue to tuck Jones away as he looks to return from the injured list in August.

Pittsburgh Pirates second baseman Nick Gonzales (groin) has been placed on the 10-day injured list after leaving Saturday’s game with a groin strain. Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said on a radio show that he doesn’t think the injury is season-ending, but that it could be weeks before Gonzalez returns from the injured list.

The 25-year-old is hitting .258 with five homers and 39 RBI in 65 games for the Pirates this season. It appears this will be a long absence for Gonzales. Fantasy managers may want to look for a replacement for the remainder of the season.

Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Ryan Pepiot (knee) gave an update on his knee infection Saturday, telling reporters the issue stemmed from an insect bite, likely a spider, that caused his knee to swell “to the size of a softball” while he spent 60 hours in the hospital. Pepiot was acquired in the midseason trade that sent star forward Tyler Glasnow to the Los Angeles Dodgers and is scheduled to throw 20-25 pitches out of the bullpen on Saturday, which could determine when he is taken off the 15-day injured list.

It’s unclear whether he needs a start at Triple-A Durham or joins the big club when he’s first eligible to come off the IL. The 26-year-old has been solid in his first season in Tampa, posting a 3.92 ERA and 26.7% K% in 17 starts and 87 1/3 innings of work, offering solid value to fantasy managers looking to take him later in this spring’s drafts.

Minnesota Twins third baseman Jose Miranda (head) left the game early in the opener on Sunday after being hit by a pitch on the left side of his batting helmet. Evan Woodbery of the MLive Media Group reported that the 26-year-old was down for a while, but was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power. He was replaced by Austin Martin. It was a frightening sight, but thankfully Miranda was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power. The infielder was recently removed from the injured list on Saturday after missing a couple of weeks with a back injury.

Miranda has had a nice post-hype breakout season this summer, as he’s hitting an excellent .324/.364/.517 line with nine home runs and 43 RBI. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye out for updates on the third baseman after Sunday’s game. UPDATE: Miranda suffered a head concussion on Sunday and passed the preliminary concussion test.
