Lake Mary Little League hopes to make history today when it takes on Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei for the 2024 Little League World Series championship.

Lake Mary became the sixth Florida team to win the U.S. championship when it defeated Boerne, Texas, 10-7 in a thriller on Saturday. No Florida team has ever won the LLWS title. The Lake Mary team, which represents the Southeast Region, is 6-1 in Williamsport and won its first two games before losing to Texas on Monday. JJ Feliciano, Garrett Rohozen and Co. have won four straight.

Chinese Taipei, the Asia-Pacific representatives who defeated Barquisimeto, Venezuela 4-1 in the International Bracket Championship, has won the most Little League World Series titles with 17. Keep scrolling for updates and highlights from the game:

6:25 pm: Florida does it! Florida starts with a runner on second base, who can score on the bunt. Chinese Taipei catches the bunt nicely, but no one covers first base, with the throw going into the outfield. Florida wins its first ever LLWS Championship.

6:22 PM: Norton continues to push in relief, shutting out Chinese Taipei again, Florida with another walk-off chance in the eighth inning.

6:17 PM: Norton continues to challenge Chinese Taipei’s hitters with his fastball as he picks up another strikeout.

6:13 PM: Florida hits out to end the inning, misses a chance and will need three more outs.

6:10 pm: Florida hits a double to left field, but it stops the runner on third. He might have had a chance to score the winning run.

6:09 PM: Another Florida strikeout marks the second out of the inning. Both teams are simply dominant on the mound today.

6:08 PM: Florida starts the inning with a strikeout, but gets a baserunner with one out after the walk.

6:01 PM: Norton gets another pop-up to get out of the inning. Florida is one run away from a walk-off victory.

5:55 PM: Chinese Taipei with two consecutive singles, putting runners on first and second base with one out.

17:53 hrs: Norton continues to put the heat on the mound, striking out another batter. His fastball is hard for Chinese Taipei to keep up with.

5:48 PM: Florida can’t score the winning run, but forces extra innings. Free baseball!

5:46 PM: Tie. Game. DeMarcos Mieses hits a blooper to left field to score Anderson from second base. Bono advances to third, giving Florida a chance to win with a single here.

5:44 PM: Florida’s four-hole hitter Landon Bono walks, putting runners on first and second with two outs.

17:42 hrs: Rohozen strikes out, though he seemed to be holding back. The first base umpire ruled he swung and the play is unreviewable. Two outs for Florida.

5:41 PM: Florida hits a ball to deep center field, but Chinese Taipei catches a great ball in center field for the first out of the inning. Tough call.

17:37 hrs: Perfect start for Florida as leadoff hitter Chase Anderson is hit by a pitch in a 3-1 count. The tying run is now on base.

5:31 PM: Norton throws out a batter to end the inning. Florida is down to three outs and can still tie or win.

5:30 pm: Both pitched so well. Norton with two quick outs to start the sixth inning.

17:24 hours: Chinese Taipei throws out two Florida hitters to end the inning. Florida has only a few chances left to tie this game.

5:20 PM: Florida’s second batter of the inning reached on a single up the middle. He then hit the griddy. A classic move.

5:14 PM: Norton gets another big pop-up to end the inning. Both teams have struggled to score runs with runners in scoring position so far.

5:12 PM: Norton forces a big pop-up for the second out of the inning. Chinese Taipei still has the bases loaded with two outs.

17:11 hours: Norton hits a single to load the bases.

17:06 hrs: Lathan Norton replaces Bibaud, who threw a gem that was good enough to win. Norton hopes to keep Florida in the final stages of this game.

17:04 hrs: Chinese Taipei begins to get to Bibaud, as it launches a double into the left-field gap to put runners on second and third with one out. Bibaud is at 72 pitches.

16:56 hrs: Florida line one to right field, but it’s right by Chinese Taipei’s right fielder. He’s still up 1-0 heading into the fifth inning.

16:54 hrs: Florida had a runner on third with two outs. It nearly had an inning-ending out at first base, but the review showed the runner was safe before he advanced to third.

4:40 pm: Bibaud is now in full swing, having retired 10 consecutive batters. Florida gets out of the inning on a web gem from the shortstop, who dives to his left and spins to beat the runner on first base.

16:33 hrs: Florida can’t capitalize, as it grounds out to end the inning. Florida has four hits to one for Chinese Taipei, but still trails.

16:32 hrs: Florida steals the ball twice, putting runners on second and third with two outs.

4:31 pm: Florida with a sharply hit ball to second base, but it is caught cleanly and almost a double play. Florida is safe on first base though and keeps the inning alive with two outs.

16:23 hrs: Back-to-back hits for Florida put runners on first and second with two outs. Can it finally break through with a big inning here?

4:19 PM: Bibaud has been impressive since the first inning, stifling the Chinese Taipei attack and retiring Taipei’s batters in order in the third.

16:12 hrs: A tough one for Florida, who can’t score in the second inning. Chinese Taipei still leads 1-0, but Florida’s offense has woken up.

16:09 hrs: Another single from Florida loads the bases with two outs. Another big moment here.

16:07 hrs: Wow. A tough one for Florida as it hits the ball straight to the third baseman, who converts the double play on the force out and throws home.
