Ground beef patties and burgers sent to restaurants have been recalled due to E.coli issues.

Wolverine Packing Co. has recalled more than 167,000 pounds of ground beef products possibly contaminated with E.coli 0157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday.

The fresh products have an expiration date of 14-11-2024 and the frozen products are labeled with production date 22-10-24.

The recall includes all products with the establishment number “EST.2574B” within the USDA inspection mark and are all subject to a recall.

The ground beef was shipped to several restaurants across the country and FSIS fears some of the products are in restaurant refrigerators or freezers. All products must be discarded or returned.

FSIS was notified by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture that a group of people who were sick with E.coli last week had all eaten ground beef traced to Wolverine Packaging.

So far, 15 people have been reported sick in Minnesota.

E. coli 0157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacteria that can cause dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps, officials said.
