According to Old Farmer’s Almanac, the Hunter’s Moon will peak on Thursday, October 17 at 7:26 am EST.

What is a supermoon?

A supermoon is a full moon that appears larger and brighter than normal because it is closer to Earth in its orbit.

Why is it called the Hunter’s Moon?

The Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, usually in October or November. It got its name because it was a signal to prepare for the coming winter by hunting. In addition, animals were more easily visible because most crops were cleared around the time of the harvest moon.
