Full transcript of the 911 call moments before Liam Payne fell

Hotel staff called emergency services twice just before singer Liam Payne fell to his death from a balcony in Argentina.

A caller who appeared to be the head receptionist said they had a guest who had done “too many drugs and alcohol” and “trashed the whole room” before the line was disconnected.

In a second call, the same caller warned that the guest’s life “may be in danger” as the room had a balcony, and asked the 911 operator to send someone “urgently.”

Medics and local authorities were sent to the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, where the former One Direction star was staying.

Payne fell from the balcony after officers arrived.

The following transcripts have been translated from recordings of the conversations in Spanish obtained by the BBC.

Call handler: 911, where is your emergency?

Caller: Hello.

911, what is your emergency?

Hello, good afternoon, look, I am calling you from the hotel CasaSur Palermo, located in Costa Rica (St) 6032.

6032? Is that between Cramer (St) and…

Yes, that’s right, it is located between Arévalo (St) and Dorrego (St). So we have a guy who’s high on drugs and he’s trashing the room. Erm, so we need someone to come over.

Understood, so you’re saying (he) is aggressive? Sir, could you please repeat the name of the hotel? Sir?

Call handler: 911, where is your emergency?

Caller: Hello, good day, I just called but was interrupted. I am calling from the hotel CasaSur Palermo, Costa Rica (St) 6032.

What’s going on at that location, sir?

Well, we have a guy who’s had too many drugs and alcohol and, when he’s conscious, he’s destroying the whole room and we need you to send someone, please.

He’s under the influence of alcohol and drugs, isn’t he, sir?

Yes, right.

What location did you say Costa Rica St?

Costa Rica 6032.

That’s between Arévalo and Cramer?

Yes.

You said it’s a hotel? What’s it called?

CasaSur Palermo, and we need someone urgently, because I don’t know if his life is in danger, that of the guest. He is in a room with a balcony and well, we are a bit afraid that he…

Since when has he been there or is this a long stay hotel?

He’s been here for two or three days.

I understand you don’t know any further details because you can’t get into them, right?

No.

We will also notify the SAME (medical emergencies) staff, yes?

Yes, what I’m asking is that someone come urgently, because, well…

We have notified SAME. Any other details you can provide. Who are you, are you in charge?

I’m the head receptionist.

Responsible on location?

Yes, yes.

We have now reported this. What’s your name, sir?

Esteban.

We reported it.

OK.

Thanks for calling. You can now clear the line.

Do you also send the police or not?

The police and the local authorities – wait, give me a second – the local authorities and the same thing.

No, no, just the SAME. Just the SAME.

Got it, don’t worry, we reported it.

Yes, perfect, thank you very much.

You told me (the guest) is under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the SAME won’t go in alone.

SAME doesn’t go in alone? Okay, okay.

No, a report has been filed (with the police) anyway. When the police arrive, explain (what is going on) and if they need the same, call them.

Okay, okay. Perfect.

We made the report. Have a nice day, sir.

Well, thanks, same to you.
