Joan and Chock joined Jesse in public for the first time as an engaged couple in the studio. The former NFL star surprised Chock and Joan with a trip to Disney World for their two families.

On the day of the proposal, Joan told Chock, “From our first date at Disneyland, I thought I saw a future with you,” referring to their first one-on-one. Now they will be able to experience that future together with their families.

Joan says yes to Forever

Chock went to proposal day without knowing Guy was going home. When he arrived at the engagement, he told Jesse he loved Joan, but Chock doubted himself because Joan hadn’t told him “I love you.”

But when Chock showed up on the beach of Bora Bora on the last day of her trip, Joan returned the sentiment.

“I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” Joan told Chock. “I want to wake up next to you in the morning and I want to kiss you when I go to bed at night.”

Chock reiterated that he loved Joan and told her he had a question for her.

“I’ve been waiting forever to do this,” Chock said before dropping to one knee and popping open a Neil Lane ring box. ‘Johan, will you marry me?’

Joan replied, “Of course I will marry you,” before giving Chock her final rose.

Guy wonders if there is “something missing” with Joan

7 hours and 6 minutes ago

Guy joined Jesse, 46, who lived at the studio, and said it was ‘heartbreaking’ to revisit his split from Joan.

Then Joan came on stage and the two spoke for the first time since parting ways in Bora Bora. Guy told Joan that everything he said on the show “came from the heart.”

“Was there anything missing that I didn’t really expect or that I should have?” Guy asked her.

“The bottom line is, it’s just a matter of time,” Joan explained.

Joan said she found it “very, very, very” difficult to finally let Guy go. “In any other situation, I would have been with you because we would have more time,” she continued. “But there was a time element of having to make a decision, and I just moved on.”

The reality star informed Guy that “you did absolutely nothing” that led to the breakup, and she told him she hoped they could double date one day.

Joan’s date with Chock showed her what she really wanted. So before Guy could meet her family, she went to his hotel room to wrap things up.

“We really clicked and when we heard that he loves me and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, I realized that I have really found love,” Joan told Chock’s cameras. “It really happened. I know where my heart is and I know what to do.”

And then she started doing just that. “I’m here to tell you that my heart belongs to someone else,” Joan told 66-year-old Guy. “And I care about you so, so, so much and I know we talked about being seen, and I want You to know that I saw you at every rose ceremony, I saw you on every date. I care about you so much, I… my heart belongs to someone else now.”

Joan added that because she cared about Guy, she wanted to spare him from meeting her children.

Guy said he was planning to propose and asked Joan, “Can’t you change your mind?”

Joan replied, “I love you, but I love you in a different way.”

Joan feels like a “different person” after hearing the “L” word

After what Chock called a “perfect” day with Joan and her family, the couple embarked on their last date before engagement day.

They popped champagne and Chock told Joan he hoped he did a “good job” during her family visit. “You actually did a great job,” Joan assured.

Chock then gave Joan a gift: a heart-shaped keychain.

“This gift is a symbol of my commitment to you and I would like us to have a place in New York City,” he said. “And I want us to do it together, figure it out and make all the decisions together.”

“I literally can’t believe this,” Joan replied.

Chock continued to explain his hopes for his future with Joan. “I want to marry you and I want to spend my life with you and I want you to know that,” he said. “I really love you.”

Joan told the cameras that this was the first time someone had said “I love you” to her since her husband died. However, she didn’t want to say “I love you” to Chock because she promised herself she wouldn’t say it to anyone until the end of the trial.

Still, I feel like a different person, Joan told the cameras. “I feel like I deserve love.”

Joan’s family has “extremely high expectations” for Chock

Joan worried that meeting Chock, despite her children’s approval, might be too much for them. “It’s very different to see me with someone,” she said.

Chock told Joan’s children that his daughter had filled his Golden bachelorette signing up because she thought Joan would be the “perfect woman” for him – and since he met her, he agreed.

When Chock and Nick spoke in person, Joan’s son didn’t beat around the bush. “For whoever the man would be to replace my father, I had extremely high expectations,” Nick told Chock. “And yeah, I mean, it’s… like this is hard. This is hard.’

Chock assured Nick that he had no intention of replacing John. “I’m not here to replace your father in any way,” the 60-year-old insurance executive told Nick. ‘I’m not. And that’s just not my place. I’m just here to have a wonderful life with your mother, to love her and have adventures and just enjoy it until the end.’

Nick told Joan that he liked Chock and that he was proud of her for making this trip.

“You tell us to be brave, to take risks, to see you do those things and succeed in such a graceful, perfect way is so incredible,” Nick told his mother. “We couldn’t be prouder to be your children.”

Joan gets some much-needed family time

7 hours 52 minutes ago

With her new positive attitude, Joan met her children Ally and Nick and their partners in Bora Bora. Joan told them where her journey stood and told them they would meet Chock and Guy. She told her loved ones she wondered “if I was really honoring John” by moving on, but eventually found the “freedom to actually fall in love” again.

“That struggle, it’s refreshing to hear that,” Nick told Joan. “This shouldn’t be easy.”

Joan wants to ‘move forward’ despite having ‘no confidence’

Joan consulted with her Golden bachelor bestie Nancy Hulkower, who joined her aboard Windstar Cruises’ Star Breeze cruise ship ahead of Fantasy Suites. Nancy tried to tell Joan to focus on her remaining connections instead of harping on about the breakup with Pascal.

“Now you can concentrate on Chock and Guy and get to know them even better,” Nancy told Joan.

But Joan felt defeated. “I’m running out of confidence,” she replied.

Nancy didn’t want Joan to remain in that negative atmosphere. “Don’t give Pascal power,” she insisted.

Joan tried to reframe her thinking. “I need to trust that this will end with an engagement,” she told the cameras. “I have to keep moving forward.”

Joan admits she feels ‘hurt’ after Pascal’s departure

The living one Golden bachelorette began with Joan reeling from the aftermath of Pascal’s departure.

“When Pascal said he didn’t love me, it hurt,” Joan admitted in an on-camera interview.

Joan said her walls are “standing up again” now that Pascal left. “It’s hard to be vulnerable again once you’ve been hurt,” she said.

The mother of four also wondered whether she would find love again after a 32-year marriage to her late husband John.

“I was lucky with John once,” Joan said. “Some people never get lucky once, so why do I get it twice?”

Before she could hand out her final rose, Joan told PEOPLE she had to come to terms with her unresolved feelings of grief after the loss of her late husband John.

“I really struggled with that in the middle of the season,” the inaugural Golden Bachelorette admitted. “The bachelor gives you access to psychiatrists who are actually in the mansion with you during the show, and so I did that. I actually had an appointment with them and we talked about what it would be like, why it was so hard for me to continue on this journey and that I felt like I was still in love with John and that I would never fall in love be on him. And they say, ‘Well, that’s fine.'”

She continued, “They said, ‘Imagine you have a balloon in each hand. One is John and the other is this other person that you have feelings for, and you don’t have to let go of them to have them too.'”

“There is room in your heart and in your memory for more than one person.” And I just needed to hear that it was okay,” Joan recalled. “I didn’t have to love John anymore, and I didn’t know it.”
