Just after seeing some solid 30% Price drops go live on the Google Nest smart cams, we now turn our attention to some notable discounts on the accompanying Google Nest Doorbell. Amazon now offers the intelligent front door solution regularly priced at $180 $99.99 shippedand that includes both the wired and wireless battery models in all four colorways. This 44% discount is also live at Best Buy. We’ve seen a few fleeting deals off Amazon for less than this, but very rarely do these cameras ever dip below $100 – some colors are now at a new Amazon low. You’ll even find Best Buy’s open box units in “excellent” condition with a 1-year warranty from $59.99 shipped now.

Although the battery model can be connected to your existing doorbell system, the real advantage is the ease of installation, as the whole thing is powered only by the internal battery. The main difference between the two is the wireless installation or the “always-on video with continuous power” on the wired model once it is connected to your system.

Otherwise they offer a very similar experience, with the ultra-clean, Google-designed hardware that, in my opinion, could look great at the front of just about any home, and the whole host of smart features you get from a smart doorbell to expect.

They both include intelligent alerts with the ability to tell the difference between people, packages, animals and vehicles, in addition to the usual 24/7 1080p HD live video feed sent to your smartphone and Google’s ‘see what you missed’ feature – “3 hours of free event video history.” Thanks to the two-way audio, you can open the door without opening it. Nest Doorbell can store up to 1 hour of recorded events, even if there’s a power outage or your Wi-Fi goes down.
