GOP candidate Lily Tang Williams fired insults at Democratic rival during heated debate in NH congressional race

A GOP candidate in a New Hampshire congressional race labeled her Democratic rival an outrageous multimillionaire after her opponent claimed she only cares about the rich.

Republican Lily Tang Williams — also a millionaire — argued that her opponent Maggie Goodlander doesn’t understand the “suffering of ordinary people,” pointing out during a heated debate Thursday night that the Dem is worth at least $20 million.

‘You’re rich. You’re worth $20 million to $30 million. How do you know that ordinary people are suffering?” Tang Williams argued.

“Are you going shopping? Going to Walmart? Buy food? I talk to those people. And if you pretended to be a renter in Nashua a few months ago, go back and run for this open seat with millions of dollars from Washington, DC insiders. …I don’t have money to make a TV commercial, and you pretend to be poor and complain that the rent is so high. You don’t understand the concerns of ordinary people.”

Goodlander, a former Biden Justice Department official, has previously criticized rents in her state as “too damn high” — while simultaneously owning millions of dollars in dozens of properties, including a Florida golf course and a Granite State casino.

The Democrat, who is also married to national security adviser Jake Sullivan, has campaigned on a sense that housing is a top priority for her prospective voters.

But housing isn’t an issue for Goodlander, who registered between $6 million and $30 million in trust funds with extensive real estate holdings, according to her husband’s 2024 federal financial disclosures obtained by The Post.

Tang Williams also lives a comfortable lifestyle — worth between $3.8 million and $8.6 million, Fox News reported, telling the campaign she only had $100 in her pocket when she arrived in the U.S. from China.
