Greg Schiano can’t let a Rutgers collapse wipe out his program’s progress | Politics

LOS ANGELES — In a city built on star power, Rutgers was a C-list attraction in its first trip to Hollywood for a Big Ten game. Even the fans in the quarter-full LA Coliseum were glued to their phones for much of the first quarter, watching the thrilling end of Game 1 of the World Series six miles away on the busy freeways from Dodger Stadium.

That’s where LA star Freddie Freeman stunned the Yankees with a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning. Here, a few hours later, the California team wouldn’t need such drama to beat these (lower case) Yankees. Southern Cal was just better then the Scarlet Knights, scoring a touchdown on all four possessions in the first half, until the Trojans’ iconic fight song felt like it was playing on an endless loop.
