Grieving uncle mourns the loss of four lives in devastating house fire

There is so much sadness after the tragic house fire that killed four family members on Thursday.

A father, his two daughters and the man’s adult brother were all killed.

The children’s mother and sibling were injured when they escaped and jumped from a third-floor window.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

“We have it bad, bad, bad,” said the family’s uncle, Toquabo Woldegebriel.

Woldegebriel knows it’s a question that may never be answered.

“We lost two children, four lives at the same time,” Woldegebriel said.

An early morning house fire led to so much misery.

Woldegebriel: says: “We’ve never seen anything like this. What can you do? I’m sorry this happened to us.”

Now it’s up to Clark County Fire investigators and ATF agents to figure out what happened.

A wooden frame in the garage supported the entire structure after the top two floors collapsed, leaving a pile of rubble that needed to be inspected.

Himanshu Radnani, a neighbor of the family, says: “We often went for a walk with my toddler, we saw them playing basketball on the street. We said hello and watched them come and go.”

The entire neighborhood is in shock.

Sandra Palomo left a candle and a bouquet for the victims and said, “People care, people care.”

She says, “I lost my parents in a house fire, the best parents in the world, so I feel for the world, so I feel for this family and had to come say my prayers for them.”

Jennifer Landrum lives nearby and took video from the back of the house.

She says, “I heard a deadly loud noise, like screeching noises, and then I heard help. As soon as I heard help, I heard an explosion and then I could hear the glass shattering.”

When Landrum heard screaming, she drove around the block to knock on doors to alert neighbors.

The Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation is collecting donations for the family through November 24.
