Gwen Stefani’s lyrics are a sweet escape into the past.

The 54-year-old released the next single, “Somebody Else’s,” from her upcoming album “Bouquet” on Friday and didn’t hold back with the country-rock track.

Stefani explains why she had to leave her ex — and is much happier now that he’s ‘someone else’s problem.’

“I don’t know what a heart like mine did in a love like that,” she sings in the opening line. “I don’t know what a woman like me did with a man like you / But now I got a love that’s so true.”

Stefanie Real goes into more detail in the chorus, explaining, “Now that I found the real thing / You don’t compare / And I don’t care that you’re someone else’s / And it don’t even break my heart / You’re someone else’s / And I pray for them, whoever they are.”

The “Just a Girl” artist also made it clear to her fans that she doesn’t want to relive the past: “If I could go back in time, I’d erase you / But I could never go back there.”

And elsewhere in the song, Stefani details the unflattering character traits of her unnamed ex: “Narcissistic, semi-psychotic, so manipulated,” singing, “I believed it every time / But not this time / You were manipulated, my world was on fire / Had to leave before it stopped spinning / So happy that I could cry / ‘Cause you’re not mine.”

Many listeners assumed the singer was talking about her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani and the Bush frontman, 58, were together for 20 years and married for nearly 13 before splitting in 2015. The duo have three sons: Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 10.

The No Doubt star is now married to Blake Shelton, after they met on the set of “The Voice” in 2014 and officially started dating a year later.

At the time, the two were in the process of divorcing (the country star, 48, had just split from his wife, country star Miranda Lambert, 40). Stefani and Shelton married in July 2021.

Rossdale has since moved on and was linked to electropop artist Xhoana X in May of this year.

Since their split, Stefani and Rossdale have been jointly responsible for raising their children. In August, the rocker reflects on their past relationship.

“We had a great time, you know?” he told The Post wistfully. “It’s funny how life works out, and how (there) was all that — and then nothing. It’s unbelievable.”

“I have three beautiful boys from that time and that part of my life,” Rossdale added.

In March, the band member also took some time to talk about what he would like to see changed.

“It would be nice if there was some sort of more connection to the person that she made with me. So that side of it,” Rossdale said on Amy Robach and TJ Holmes’ podcast “Amy and TJ.“So, I feel bad for my kids, that’s it. That’s the main thing.”

“The rest of it is, like, it’s part of it,” Rossdale added, “and there’s other things that have happened… If I could be completely honest, that would be the most profound thing, I wish I could have just found a way not to have that in their lives.”

But the musician, who is also father to daughter Daisy Lowe, 35, from a previous relationship, has no qualms about being there for his and Stefani’s children despite their new romances.

“I go to a lot of events where the other team is, so to speak,” Rossdale continued, “and I just really pride myself on my consistency as a dad. I know in my heart that I’m super consistent. Yeah, like everybody, I have my flaws and things didn’t work out as perfectly as I wanted them to.”

Even when he’s not touring with the kids, he said, “There’s an intrinsic bond that’s so strong and present that I’m very proud of that. It’s unwavering.”
