Haason Reddick doesn’t say he has any regrets after the Jets debut

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Haason Reddick played his first game for the Jets on Sunday.

It’s understandable if you missed it.

Reddick played 26 snaps and had just two quarterback pressures.

He had no tackle.

This came after the 30-year-old edge rusher’s extended holdout caused him to miss the Jets’ first seven games.

He also had no influence in the eighth game.

After the game, Reddick spoke to reporters for the first time since reporting last Monday, but declined to answer questions about the postponement.

“At this point, guys and everyone that’s here, I have nothing to say as far as the postponement,” Reddick said. “The only thing I’m worried about right now is what I can do to get better, what I can do to get myself fully up to speed. We have a game on Thursday night, and that’s all I’m focusing on right now: how can I get better, how can I help the team win, and what do I need to do to make sure I get these W’s? .”

It’s understandable if Reddick doesn’t want to talk about the ridiculous heist that ultimately cost him nearly $12 million.

“At this time I am not talking about the watch,” he said repeatedly.

The Jets counted on Reddick to be a key part of their defense when they traded for him in March.

Instead, he stayed away, asked for a trade and showed up with the Jets season already fading away.

He was asked if he felt responsible for the Jets record for not helping the team.

“Responsible for what? No, I don’t feel responsible,” Reddick said. “Do I wish some things were different, that things happened differently? But like I said, I’m here now. Today we took an L. The only thing I’m worried about now is, what can I do to get better? What can I do to get myself fully informed? That way I will be the best version of myself next Thursday.”
