Halloween weather should be a seasonal treat

Good weather means lots of fun. Halloween on Thursday arrives in the wake of a cold front on Wednesday and should be a perfect night for trick-or-treaters in most of the Big Country.

Sunshine and a high of 76 degrees are expected during the day, according to the National Weather Service office in San Angelo. The evening will be cool. A low of 54 is forecast, but winds should be in the 5 mph range.

With these pleasant seasonal temperatures, children have to go door to door en masse. Sunset will be at 6:48 p.m., so driving slowly is advised for motorists in neighborhoods as dusk falls and eyes adjust.

However, rain is forecast to fall again on Friday, with a 30 per cent chance of thunderstorms during the day and a 50 per cent chance of thunderstorms on Friday evening. The odds increase on Saturday, remaining at 50 percent and rising to 70 percent that evening.

Those 50 percent odds hold throughout the weekend, dropping to 40 percent on Monday and then to 30 percent on Tuesday.
