    Harris agrees with heckler that Israel is committing genocide

    US presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared to claim Israel is committing genocide during a speech in Milwaukee on Thursday, calling it “real”.

    In the videos circulating on social media Saturday evening, Kamala Harris is seen addressing a group of students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before being interrupted by a student who asks her to speak about “the genocide” in Gaza.

    Harris tells the students that she is “so invested in them” before being interrupted by the student who says, “And in genocide, right? Billions of dollars in genocide that you invested in?”

    In response, Harris said she respected the student’s right to speak.

    “I respect your right to speak. I’m speaking now, I know what you’re talking about. I want a ceasefire. I want the war to end.’

    The male student, wearing a keffiyeh, continues to ask her questions about the genocide as he pushes through the crowd toward Harris.

    Harris then gestures to the student as he is escorted out of the room by security and tells the crowd, “Listen, what he’s talking about, it’s real. It’s real. That’s not the topic I came to discuss today, But it’s real.” , and I respect his voice.”

    UWM police removed the heckler, who was cited for disorderly conduct, a university spokesperson said.

    ‘Gives credibility to blood libel’

    Former US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, said this to the newspaper New York Post that Harris had just “publicly affirmed the false and cruel accusation that Israel is engaged in genocide.”

    “Many, including myself, have always suspected that she had this distorted, anti-Semitic view of Israel’s self-defense against the barbarity of Hamas. But the cat is now out of the bag,” he told the American outlet on Saturday.

    “Her view is as ignorant as it is malicious. …By giving public credence to this disgusting blood libel, Harris disqualifies himself from holding any public office, let alone the presidency,” he added.

    The heckler was apparently affiliated with the group UW-Milwaukee Popular University for Palestine Coalition, which posted a video to their Instagram along with National SJP.

    Alongside the video, the group wrote that they had organized a large-scale student protest against Harris’ lecture at four locations outside the venue, and that a student had interrupted the lecture.

    “While leaving the event, her motorcade was forced to pass all the demonstrators,” the statement said.

    This was confirmed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinelstating that Harris’ motorcade drove past pro-Palestinian protesters on campus before arriving at the meeting at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, where journalists were not allowed to attend.

    According to social media reports, some pro-Palestinian protesters outside the event refused to leave and lay on the ground.
