Harris expected to address nation after likely election loss – Boston News, Weather, Sports

Vice President Kamala Harris likely fell short in her bid to win the presidency.

Harris had not spoken about the election results as of 5 a.m. Wednesday, as her plans to speak were postponed while her Republican challenger took the lead.

Supporters were seen leaving the event at her alma mater, Howard University, about hours after being told she would not be speaking.

Campaign officials said she will speak after they ensure every vote is in.

Back at Howard on Wednesday, Harris plans to speak not just to her supporters and the university, but to the entire country.

Only two sitting vice presidents have ever made an immediate leap to lead the country, the last being George HW Bush in 1988.
