Harris’ Fox News interview with Bret Baier was a ratings hit

Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with Fox News host Bret Baier was a hit, drawing more than 7.1 million viewers just 20 days before the November presidential election.

The Harris campaign’s attempt to sit down for an interview with the conservative-leaning cable news channel certainly got its message out to viewers. The controversial interview received the highest rating of any of Harris’ recent appearances on cable news programs during her time media blitz– including her performance on 60 minuteswhich was watched by 5.7 million viewers, according to early Nielsen data released by Fox News.

It also surpassed her September interview with CNN’s Dana Bash – another one contentious back and forth which attracted 6.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

Even more people watched a replay of the Baier interview at noon, bringing the total viewership to 8.5 million, Fox said.

About 882,000 of the initial broadcast’s viewers were in the coveted 25-54 demographic, a number that grew to at least 1.2 million after the midnight broadcast, according to Fox.

Fox also aired an event with former President Donald Trump on the same day — a town hall in Georgia focused on women’s issues, moderated by Fox News host Harris Faulkner. The event, which was attended exclusively by women, attracted approximately 2.9 million viewers, with only approximately 338,000 viewers in the 25-54 age group.

However, the timeslot may have affected the number of viewers:Special report with Bret Baier aired at 6 p.m., while the town hall aired at 11 a.m
