Los Angeles Police Department Missing Persons confirmed on Friday, November 15, that Hannah was reported missing. Some family members are on the scene hoping to find her.

Hannah’s aunt drove six hours from Big Sur to Los Angeles to help find her niece. Airport authorities have released a photo taken before Hannah was due to board her connecting flight to New York on Friday, November 8.

Hawaii woman apparently missing in California: ‘We can’t find her’

“The LAPDX has been helpful. They tried to find camera footage. We got that photo of her getting off the plane,” Larie Pidgeon said.

Hannah’s family said her texts seemed to change in tone before stopping completely and that a strange post on her Instagram on Sunday, November 10 featuring the LeBron James and Nike logos was from an event at The Grove.

They searched the internet for videos taken by attendees and found a short clip showing Hannah walking with headphones on.

“We are 100% positive. And as of today, we have spoken to the videographer who shot that video and have been timestamped that she was here at the Grove at 3:40 PM on Sunday,” Pidgeon said. “This has been six days of not seeing her and her phone has been off for six days!”

“Hannah is sweet and loving and kind, and she wouldn’t worry us.”

Hannah’s father and another aunt are also in California looking for her, while Hannah’s older sister will fly on Saturday, November 16, to help as well. Hannah’s mother stays in Hawaii with Hannah’s sister, Hope.

“We kind of have this unwritten rule that we always check in, no matter if it’s me, Syd, Hope, Hannah, we say, ‘Okay, I’m here and I’m safe,’” said Hannah’s mother, Brandi Kobayashi.

“It’s not normal behavior for her to just disappear or have something planned like that because when she has her mind set on something, like traveling,” said Hannah’s older sister, Sydni Kobayashi.

“Come hell or high water, she’s there,” Brandi said.

“And that’s why we’re so grateful for the news media, for the media, for everyone who is reporting on this and trying to help us find our missing niece, our daughter and our sister,” Pidgeon said.
