Heidi Klum reveals this year’s breathtaking Halloween costume

Heidi Klum once again brought her A-game to Halloween, transforming into ET this year for her highly anticipated costume reveal.

The star hosted her 23rd annual Halloween party in New York on Thursday, where she unveiled the look on the carpet. Klum broadcast a direct scene from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 science fiction classic ET the extraterrestrialdressed as ET, disguised in a hat and blonde wig; she appeared alongside husband Tom Kaulitz, who was also transformed into the more traditional E.T

Klum had been teasing the costume on her social media platforms all day as she got ready, and a close-up video on her Instagram shows Klum’s face blended into ET’s neck, with a flashing head on top of hers.

Klum’s over-the-top costumes have become a tradition on October 31, appearing in recent years as a peacock, a lifelike worm, Princess Fiona of Shrek and Jessica Rabbit, all using heavy prosthetics and often spending hours in the makeup chair. She had previously teased on Instagram: “You’ll never guess what this year has in store.”

In a recent conversation with Peoplethe America has talent The judge revealed she had been working on this year’s costume for months, with time for molds, prosthetics and fittings.

“There’s a lot to it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this isn’t something I can just put together overnight,” she said. “It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning. And also when I do the reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans, and those specific Halloween fans are people who also like to dress up and come up with amazing things.

Halloween queen Janelle Monáe also appeared as ET this year, revealing her own take on the iconic character on Wednesday.

Klum’s Halloween party, presented by Butterfinger, Mattel and Prime Video at the Hard Rock Hotel New York, featured DJ sets from Questlove and Gottmik & Violet.
