    Here’s a look at the full course route – NBC Chicago

    The 46th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon kicks off this weekend, with tens of thousands of runners completing a 26.2-mile course that winds through many of Chicago’s most recognizable neighborhoods.

    The 2024 edition of the race is expected to attract more than 50,000 participants, with approximately 35% of participants coming from international locations.

    But where will runners travel?

    The race starts and ends in Grant Park, but extends beyond downtown, passing through 29 neighborhoods and some of Chicago’s most iconic streets.

    The 26.2-mile ride takes runners over six of the Chicago River bridges, stretching north to Sheridan Road and to 35th Street in the south.

    There are also supporters at various waiting points throughout the marathon course.

    How to watch

    NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago will offer full live TV coverage and livestreaming of the 2024 Chicago Marathon in both English and Spanish. Live broadcasts will also be available on the NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago apps, and on the stations’ 24/7 streaming channel.

    The historic number of runners taking to the city streets will also mean some closures in the area.
