    The Cincinnati Bengals host the New England Patriots at Paycor Stadium to kick off Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.

    Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast locally on WKRC-TV (Local 12).

    Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has won just one season opener, which came in 2021 against the Minnesota Vikings. That was wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase’s first NFL game.

    The Bengals got a stop on defense, but it was negated by a turnover after Charlie Jones dropped the ball on his punt return attempt. Patriots kicker Joey Slye made a 35-yard field goal to extend the Patriots’ lead.

    The New England Patriots took advantage of a turnover by the Cincinnati Bengals to extend their lead before halftime, with kicker Joey Slye making a 32-yard field goal to make it a two-score game.

    Tight end Tanner Hudson appeared poised to score the Bengals’ first touchdown, but Patriots safety Kyle Dugger stole the ball before it crossed the line into the end zone.     Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson drove the ball in from 3 yards out to give New England an early lead over the Cincinnati Bengals. The touchdown capped a 14-play, 80-yard drive that took 7:20.

    The New England Patriots have the ball on third-and-goal at the Bengals’ 3-yard line to end the first quarter. The Bengals’ defense fails to stop the Patriots’ second offensive drive of the game.

    It looked like the Bengals were going to get a first down on a Joe Burrow 14-yard scramble, but offsetting penalties forced them to replay the down. Burrow then hit tight end Tanner Hudson over the middle for a completion, but he fell short of the line to win. The Patriots took over at their own 20-yard line after a touchback.

    The Cincinnati Bengals went three-and-out on their first drive, but also forced a New England Patriots punt. The Bengals got the ball back with 9:52 left in the first quarter at their own 11-yard line.

    The New England Patriots tackled Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on the second offensive play of the game. Burrow fumbled, but recovered the ball. The Bengals went three-and-out on their first offensive series.

    Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (+135) has the best odds to score a touchdown at any point, according to BetMGM. Running back Zack Moss is second at +150. Tee Higgins is still on the board at +175 despite being inactive.

    The Cincinnati Bengals are currently 7.5-point favorites over the New England Patriots, which is the widest spread of the week. The Buffalo Bills are second-place favorites at 6.5 points over the Arizona Cardinals.

    Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is active for today’s game against the New England Patriots, but Tee Higgins is not. Higgins suffered a hamstring injury this week and was added to the injury report on Friday. The Bengals yesterday signed wideout Kendric Pryor from the practice squad, but he too is inactive.

    Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow wore a casual outfit to Paycor Stadium prior to his team’s Week 1 game against the New England Patriots.

    Bengals Pro Bowl wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was added to the team’s injury report on Saturday due to an illness and is listed as questionable.
