Sexyy Red will perform at Rave’s Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

The day before Sexyy Red plays home for the Bucks, the rising hip-hop star will swing by the Brewers’ ballpark to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, the baseball club made the announcement on social media Wednesday.

On Sept. 8 — the day Red throws that pitch — the Brewers will take on the Colorado Rockies at 1:10 p.m. at American Family Field. That’s also the date of the Jackson Chourio bobblehead giveaway for the first 30,000 ticketed fans through the gates, according to the Brewers’ website.

Tickets for the game are available here and range from $22 to $218 (excluding gate fees).

The following day, September 9th, Red will bring her “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour” to Fiserv Forum with special guests Kodak Black, Hunxho, Loe Shimmy and BlakeIANA! The show starts at 7 p.m. PT, with doors opening an hour early, according to the arena’s website.

Tickets, which range from approximately $44 to $160 (not including fees), can be purchased at ticketmaster.com.

In 2023, Drake, Nicki Minaj and SZA all shed light on Red, from song collaborations to tours, according to a previous Journal Sentinel report. It helped the St. Louis native become one of the year’s biggest hip-hop breakthroughs.

Red’s hits include the career-launching hit “Pound Town” and the TikTok sensation “SkeeYee.”

After opening for Moneybagg Yo at Fiserv Forum in August 2023, Red — born Janae Nierah Wherry — headlined The Rave in November. In Piet Levy’s review of the show, he described Red as raw, defiant, idiosyncratic, confident, authentic and relatable.

It was also during that show that Red gave Certified Trapper — the king of Milwaukee’s driving low-end — and Chicken P — arguably the rapper in town whose wildly popular YouTube videos helped bolster one of the country’s most energetic hip-hop scenes — a moment in what Levy described as “an admirable and surprising gesture.”

Piet Levy and Chris Foran of the Journal Sentinel editorial team contributed to this report.
