Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager are Jack and Rose from Titanic on Halloween

The Today show gave viewers a big surprise this Halloween.

In honor of the spooky holiday on Thursday, October 31, the NBC morning show hosts are once again dressed in an epic group costume and celebrating their favorite movie characters with a trip back to Blockbuster to relive the must-see ’80s, ’90s and early ’80s Rent 80s Films from the 00s.

Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer, Jenna Bush Hager, Willie Geist, Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander all took part in the tradition this year, dressed as stars from Austin powers, Anchorman, Beetle juice, Beverly Hills cop, Mrs. Doubtfire and more.

There were also surprises along the way, such as when Luke Wilson reprized his role Legally blonde for a sweet tribute alongside Guthrie’s Elle Woods.

And Kotb, in her last Today Halloween, it told her Today with Hoda and Jenna co-host who would “never let them go” as Jack and Rose express Titanic.

Last year the group embraced the theme of The Kelly Clarkson Show‘s signature “Kellioke” segment by dressing up as some of history’s most iconic music artists, including Taylor Swift, Lionel Richie, Pink, Neil Diamond, MC Hammer, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Sonny and Cher.

“We’ve spent the last 365 days coming up with our biggest reveal yet,” Melvin teased earlier in the show on Thursday.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of that Today‘s Halloween festivities. The highly anticipated event began in 1994 after the opening of NBC’s Studio 1A and the iconic open-air Plaza. Fresh, fun and fantastic looks have emerged over the years, with fans eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the host’s mysterious costumes.
