Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager unveil a devastating Halloween tribute to the host’s departure today

Hoda Kotb’s 2024 Halloween costume seemed to give a subtle nod to her upcoming departure from the Today show, as she and co-host Jenna Bush Hager joined forces to dress up as Rose and Jack from Titanic.

The 60-year-old host teamed up with her host again for the network’s annual celebration, transforming into the characters made famous by Hollywood giants Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.

The pair delighted the audience outside the studio at Rockefeller Center in New York City as they recreated the iconic scene on the bow of the ship as Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On played at full blast.

“I trust you Jack, I trust you with all my heart,” Jenna, 42, said as she held Hoda’s hand. “I’ll never let you go.”

“You promise?” Hoda asked, before declaring her love.

The duo then stepped onto a replica of the boat’s bow and Hoda wrapped her arms around Jenna’s waist as she extended her arms.

Many will know that James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster film ends with Leonardo’s character Jack drowning in the Atlantic Ocean after the wooden door he was resting on began to sink.

Was Hoda’s costume a devastating Easter egg for her impending departure?

Hoda announced in September that she will be leaving the show early next year after nearly seven years at the helm.

The anchor has been a part of NBC News for 26 years, but after turning 60 in August, she decided it was time to “try something new.”

She wrote a letter explaining her decision to her colleagues: ‘As I write this, my heart is on the map.

‘I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful decision. And you are all the reason why.

‘They say two things can be good at the same time, and I feel that so deeply now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show.

“My time at NBC has been the longest professional love affair of my life. But only because you stood by my side during this twenty-six year adventure.

“When you look back, the math is crazy. 26 years at NBC News – 10 years at Dateline, seven on seven o’clock, 16 on ten o’clock.”

She continued, “I imagine your faces and your families and all the ways you have lifted and inspired me.

‘That’s my heart singing. Many of my professional relationships have grown into some of my most cherished friendships.”

She then paid a heartbreaking tribute to her ride-or-die Jenna, claiming she will “desperately” miss everyone she worked with on the hit morning show.

“Savannah: my rock,” she continued. “Jenna: my ride-or-die. Al: my longest friend at 30 Rock. Craig, Carson, Sheinelle and Dylan: my family. Libby, Mazz and Talia: my fearless leaders. I will miss you all at Today very much.”

Elsewhere during the Today show’s Halloween celebration, Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer went as Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz, Willie Geist dressed as Anchorman’s Ron Burgundy, and Carson Daly and Sheinelle Jones channeled Goldmember’s Austin Powers and Foxxy Cleopatra.

Peter Alexander dressed up as Mrs. Doubtfire, Laura Jerrett channeled Bring It On and Craig Melvin reprized the role of Beverly Hills Cop’s Axel F. Foley.

Last year, Jenna and Hoda dressed up as the legendary musical duo Sonny and Cher, with Hoda wearing a long, flowing pink dress, a long brown wig and huge hoop earrings.

Meanwhile, Jenna opted for a sparkling gold suit, a short brown wig and a mustache – much to the shock of her son Hal.

Speaking to DailyMail.com at the time, she said: ‘I FaceTimed my son Hal, who thought I was Henry, which I take as a huge compliment. “He says ‘daddy?’

Hoda admitted she was too scared to call her daughters, Hope and Haley. “They’re going to say, ‘Who is he?'” she cringed. “Hi, it’s me!”
