After a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Gisele Bündchen, 44, and boyfriend Joaquim Valente, 35, are expecting their first baby together, Bündchen’s third, on Monday, Oct. 28, fans wondered how she hid her pregnancy for months.

Bündchen regularly shares her son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11 — whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady — on her social media, but the model gave no indication that she was expecting her third baby.

Earlier this month, the model shared an Instagram reel promoting a brand of herbal supplements, which was meticulously filmed from the chest up.

Many expected the model, who served as a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1999 to 2006, to make her return at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was held on October 15. However, Bündchen was noticeably absent from the catwalk.

On October 4, the expectant mother of three shared a carousel of photos from her modeling campaign with Colcci Jeans. Although her stomach was fully visible when she posed in Brazil, it is unclear when these photos were taken.

“Rio de Janeiro is still beautiful! Always great to be back in this beautiful city. There’s no better place to take photos @colccioficial @colccijeansoficial 🇧🇷☀️,” she captioned the post.

On Oct. 3, the supermodel shared that her recent photoshoot look for Zara was inspired by Italian actress Monica Vitti — as she rocked a messy blonde bob reminiscent of the late star. In the photos posted on her Instagram. Bündchen’s belly is either hidden by a fur coat and wide trousers or completely cut away.

“It was so much fun playing Monica Vitti in front of the lens of my dear friend Steven Meisel for the special @stefanopilati collection for @zara 📸,” Bündchen wrote in the caption.

On September 22, she shared an Instagram carousel with the caption “The best of summer! ☀️ O melhor do verão!” including a few full bikini shots from throughout the summer months.

Earlier that month, Bündchen posted a series of photos of her Vogue Brazil photoshoot. Many of her looks are impressive with form-fitting clothes, corsets and even mesh material on the stomach.

“It was fun shooting the new @voguebrasil with loved ones,” she shared in her caption.

The bikini photos continued into July, when she shared several photos from her family trip to Bahia, Brazil on Instagram. The proud mother jumps across the beach in her cheetah print bikini.

On Monday, October 28, a source close to Bündchen confirmed the model’s pregnancy news, telling PEOPLE in a statement: “Gisele and Joaquim are happy with this new chapter in their lives and they look forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment . for the whole family.”

Bündchen has been in a relationship with the jiu-jitsu instructor since June 2023. Their baby will join Bündchen’s son Benjamin Rein, 14, and daughter Vivian Lake, 11, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Brady.
