How many points did Caitlin Clark score today? Full stats, results, highlights of Fever vs. Dream

Caitlin Clark’s marathon summer continues on Monday when Fever takes on Dream.

The Iowa product has Christie Sides’ squad on the air of late, with Indiana knocking off six of its last 10 opponents in an effort to bolster its playoff chances. Clark’s August performance has been nothing short of miraculous, as she is averaging 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists on 47.2/34.5/93.8 shooting splits.

Not only has Clark impressed, she’s also faced some of the toughest competition in the W, including Olympic heroes Kahleah Copper, Jewell Loyd and Kayla McBride.

She won’t get much respite Monday night, either. Clark and Indiana’s mediocre defense will try to fend off Atlanta and its star player, Rhyne Howard.

Howard, a former Rookie of the Year and two-time All-Star, is one of the W’s most intriguing prospects, a 6-foot-4 guard with an astonishing ability to reach the Cup.

The stars will be out in force when Clark and Howard take the court at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia. A win would go a long way toward putting distance between the Fever and the rest of the Eastern Conference; they currently hold a 2.5-game lead over the ninth-seeded Dream.

Caitlin Clark highlights against Atlanta Dream

Clark started the game with a great performance by scoring a triple after being unwatched.

She took a backseat for much of the first half, handing the reins of attack to fellow All-Star Kelsey Mitchell, who led the way with 16 points. Clark had her moments of offensive prowess, showing a delicate floater to start the second frame.

And after failing to clear a three-point attempt, Clark immediately took another shot and slammed it home after Lexie Hull had kept possession.

For the most part, though, Clark was the teamโ€™s leading playmaker, dishing out three dimes in the first 20 minutes of action. There could have been more in it for the 22-year-old megastar. But a sprained ankle, suffered just as the first quarter was drawing to a close, cost Clark valuable minutes at the end of the quarter.

Although she managed to overcome her brief ailment in the second set, the numbers behind her early performances were still not quite right, at least compared to her season averages.
