How roads will be affected during the dismantling of the Grand Prix circuit

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – One question likely on many drivers’ minds is when the Las Vegas Strip will return to normal after Formula 1 leaves town.

According to Grand Prix officials, dismantling of the circuit will begin on Sunday, November 24 and will be completed by Christmas.

Here is an overview of the roads affected and closed due to the decommissioning:

LAS VEGAS BOULEVARD

  • Lane reductions on Las Vegas Boulevard between Fashion Show Drive and Spring Mountain from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. from November 27 to December 2.
  • 24-hour lane restrictions on Las Vegas Boulevard from midnight on November 24 to 9 pm on November 27 for the removal of track barriers. Lane closures will vary by location, with one lane in each direction remaining open during the closure. Nighttime lane restrictions on Las Vegas Boulevard from midnight to 9 a.m. December 1 to 6, with one lane remaining in each direction during the closures due to the removal of lane lights.
  • The dismantling of the Bellagio Fountain Club will begin on November 24 and last until December 27 with two closures southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard from Flamingo Road to Bellagio Drive. The Bellagio Las Vegas Hotel and Casino entrance and exit remain open.
  • Disassembly activities for the Fashion Show will take place from 1am to 9am on November 27 and December 2. Two southbound lanes will be closed on Las Vegas Boulevard from Fashion Show Drive to Spring Mountain.

Day 1 of Formula 1 traffic in Las Vegas

ZANDlaan

  • There will be 24-hour lane restrictions on Sands Avenue from 9pm on November 24 to 9pm on November 27 to remove track barriers, track lighting and SAFER barriers. One lane will remain open in each direction during the closure.

KOVAL LANE

  • Sidewalk closures on Koval Lane from December 6 to 20 due to the dismantling of the Flamingo Pedestrian Bridge.

HARMON AV

  • Nightly lane restrictions will be in effect on Harmon Avenue from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday through Friday, December 1 through 6, due to the removal of the rail barrier. Lane closures will vary by location, with one lane in each direction remaining open during the closures. Lane restrictions at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane will be lifted due to the dismantling of the barriers along Harmon Avenue.
  • Overnight closure of Harmon Avenue at Audrie Street from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM, Sunday through Friday, December 1-13, due to the dismantling of the Audrie Vehicle Bridge. The intersection will be open on weekends. All left turns at the Harmon Avenue and Audrie Street intersection will be eliminated. During the closure, flaggers will be present at all hours of the closure to direct traffic at the intersection.

DISMANTLING OF THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE HOUSING

There will be nightly closures from midnight to 9am for pedestrians during the dismantling of several pedestrian bridge enclosures, including:

  • Venetian/Sands South and Planet Hollywood to Cosmopolitan December 2-4
  • Bellagio to Horseshoe and the Harmon Shops to Harmon East December 5-6 and December 9.

RTC TRANSIT UPDATES

  • The following routes will resume regular routes on Tuesday, November 26:
    • Route 119 (Simmons/Koval)
    • Route 202 (Flamingo)
    • Route 203 (Lenteberg)
    • Deuce on the Strip
    • Centennial Express
  • The current closures will reopen on Wednesday, November 27 at 9 p.m. due to the dismantling of the F1 circuit:
    • Stop 1403 – Las Vegas Blvd. on Treasure Island
    • Stop 1376 – Las Vegas Blvd. at The Mirage
    • Stop 1339 – Las Vegas Blvd. at Caesars Palace
    • Stop 3590 – Las Vegas Blvd. at Bellagio
    • Stop 2505 – WB Sands after Koval
    • Stop 2572 – WB Spring Mountain after Las Vegas Blvd.
    • Stop 2504 – EB Sands after Koval
