UPDATE: According to the FDNY, the fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. local time on Tenth Avenue between 35th and 36th Streets. No initial injuries were reported, the agency said, adding that just under 80 firefighters responded to the blaze.

A massive fire broke out from the roof of a Manhattan skyscraper, The Set, in the Hudson Werven neighborhood on Thursday. New York City officials, including firefighters, rushed to the scene of the accident at 10th Avenue and West 35th Street. Video footage showed a large plume of smoke filling the air.

There are no early reports of injuries or deaths. It is currently unclear what could have caused the massive fire.

The Citizen Crime Reporting application noted that firefighters say the fire is under control and there are no injuries. Several locals and reporters posted updates on social media. “A building in #HudsonYards is currently on fire. I took this footage from my bedroom and called 911. Prayers,” said someone on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“High Rise Fire in Hudson Yards. Smoke is pouring from the roof of the building as firefighters attempt to extinguish the flames. Avoid the area,” The Citizen reported on the Elon Musk-led platform.
