I Was So Excited About Shooting My Movie Babygirl That I Had to Take a Break So I Stopped Having Orgasms, Says Nicole Kidman

NICOLE KIDMAN has admitted she was so “inspired” by her sexy new role that she had to pause filming at one point.

Babygirl sees the Oscar-winning actress play a powerful, married corporate boss who falls in love with a kinky young intern.

In the erotic thriller, 57-year-old Nicole undresses and longs to be dominated in the bedroom by the almost stranger.

In the film, released here on January 10, new employee Samuel tells Nicole’s character, workaholic CEO Romy, that the first rule is: “I tell you what to do and you do it.”

Those orders included Romy getting down on her hands and knees to drink milk from a saucer and putting Samuel’s tie in her mouth.

In a revealing new interview, Nicole says staging the scenes with young British actor Harris Dickinson, who plays the intern, and Antonio Banderas, as her husband Jacob, was often too much to handle.

She says: “There was a huge amount of sharing and trust and then frustration.

“It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me.’

“There were times when we were filming and I thought, ‘I don’t want to have an orgasm anymore.’

‘Don’t come near me. I hate doing this.

“I don’t care if I’m never touched again in my life!

‘I’m over it. It was so present to me all the time that it almost seemed like a burnout.”

Nicole Kidman shares teenage daughter Sunday’s surprising reaction to the star ‘getting stoned’ in the film Eyes Wide Shut

It’s much more exciting than her recent starring role in the hit Netflix drama The Perfect Couple, which featured a scene of on-screen husband Liev Schreiber making love to her in front of a window in their crowded holiday home with family.

Mother-of-four Nicole has previously pushed the boundaries when choosing her roles, after appearing in an orgy scene in the 1999 film Eyes Wide Shut with then-husband Tom Cruise and taking part in a disturbing bedroom play with Colin Farrell in Killing Of A Sacred Deer in 2017.

But Babygirl is considered her raunchiest performance yet.

At a recent press conference in Los Angeles, Harris, 28, from East London, said he needed time out from the intense role.

The actor, who starred in the third Kingsman film, The King’s Man, and the critically acclaimed satire Triangle Of Sadness, would say to the crew and his co-stars: ‘Okay, everyone – just step away for a while’ if ‘we don’t feel comfortable felt’. ”.

There is already a lot of Oscar buzz surrounding Nicole’s highly charged portrayal of Romy.

One moment she is giving orders to her staff at a robotics company, the next moment she is in the hands of Samuel.

The thriller is written and directed by Halina Reijn, who also brought us the black comedy-horror Bodies Bodies Bodies in 2022, starring Pete Davidson and Amandla Stenberg.

Nicole had wanted to work with the female Dutch director for years and when Halina came to her with Babygirl she was immediately interested.

Nicole recalls: “I read the script and I thought it was so funny.

Spicy moments

“But it also excited me. I was also a bit hypnotized.”

Halina was inspired by Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas’ 1992 thriller Basic Instinct and hearing from a woman who had never experienced sexual pleasure during her 25 years of marriage.

Nicole met Harris before filming began in New York last December.

She recalls: “It was often just about ourselves, which is a great way for actors to come together because you share things.”

When they started filming, the director played most of the roles for her cast.

Nicole continues: “She threw herself across the room in the rehearsal room and played all the parts – I had never experienced that before.”

There were times when we were filming and I thought, ‘I don’t want to have an orgasm anymore. Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I never get touched again in my life! I’m over it’

The cast needed an intimacy coordinator for the sex scenes, where the couple comes together during a nighttime swim.

But Nicole made sure they weren’t ‘locked in’ because the coordinator told them what they could or couldn’t do.

She explains: “I am still a big believer in the sanctity of the set or the actors’ space, and that it is never, ever violated.

“Because it’s ours, it’s the bubble, and then there’s the world outside.”

The Hollywood beauty has chosen to work with female directors because that part of the industry is still male-dominated.

And Nicole doesn’t think she could have executed the spicy moments so well if there was a man behind the camera giving orders, as the late Stanley Kubrick did in Eyes Wide Shut.

That was because she could talk to Halina about her most ‘secret desires’.

She says: “I don’t think I could have done it, working with a man.

“I actually think the only way I could do this was with her, because the two of us would sit and talk.

“We have talked about so many things and still do, it is so secretive and vulnerable – but it is safe.”

Nicole made her film debut at the age of 16 in the 1983 Australian festive drama Bush Christmas and has spoken in the past about how she’s been having ‘#MeToo moments – since I was little’.

But she thought she was protected from the sexual harassment many actresses faced thanks to her marriage to Cruise.

The couple married in 1990 and have two children Isabella, 31, and 29-year-old Connor.

By the time Nicole and the Top Gun star divorced in 2001, she was a major force in the industry herself.

Five Oscar nominations, including one win for The Hours in 2003, make directors desperate to work with her.

Nicole’s influence also means that she can choose whether she wants to wear revealing clothes in a movie or not.

And she may decide to play a role that requires her to get down on all fours and do whatever a man tells her in a BDSM relationship, like Babygirl.

Nicole says: “Being in Halina’s hands, I knew she wouldn’t exploit me.

“I didn’t feel exploited.

“I felt very involved in it.

“It’s the story I wanted to be a part of, that I wanted to tell, and every part of me was committed to that.

“A lot of care has been taken by all of us.

“We were all very, very friendly to each other and helped each other – Harris, Antonio.”

However, the best part of making Babygirl for Nicole was going to the club for one scene.

She says: “My favorite day was the rave because I had to go to a rave.

“We played loud music and I was allowed to just let loose.

“And at that moment in the film, when we did it, it was just so necessary: that feeling of complete release.”

The in-demand star has numerous projects lined up, including playing the fictional forensic pathologist title character in the TV series Kay Scarpetta and in an Amazon Prime thriller titled Holland, Michigan.

Unfortunately, when you have a family at home and all that, there has to be some kind of agreement where you go: “I’m going to go into this now and I’m going to ask your permission to let me go.

But she has to choose her roles carefully because it means being away from husband Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith, 13.

The family lives on a farm in Memphis, Tennessee, and Nicole must always come to an agreement with her husband Keith before embarking on major work projects.

Award-winning country star Keith must also find time to perform and record his music.

Nicole says, “Unfortunately, when you have a family at home and all that, there has to be some kind of agreement where you go, ‘I’m going to go into this now and I’m going to ask your permission to let me go.’ to go’.

“And I have teenage children who understand and a husband who is also an artist.

“So you’re released into your artistic life and then you come back to your home and your real life.

“But it takes some kind of letting go.”
