Iowa Hawkeyes vs Northwestern: Live Updates, Results & Game Thread

The Iowa Hawkeyes are back home within the friendly confines of Kinnick Stadium. After a disappointing loss on the road in East Lansing a week ago, the Hawkeyes now come home looking to bounce back and quiet the rumblings of a QB controversy.

While running back Kaleb Johnson remains among the best in the country, Iowa’s passing game has been up and down all year, with last week’s performance being the latest valley that feels deeper than the highest peaks. Cade McNamara had the worst game of the season, completing less than 48% of his passes with an interception to go with one touchdown. His footwork continues to look sub-par, while his speed and accuracy continue to struggle due to a reluctance to shed his foothold.

With former Wildcat QB Brendan Sullivan already deployed in the redzone and 2/2 with a TD on the season, the glaring question has become: why not expand his role? May we Finally Will you see it today against Sully’s former team? Or will we see Kirk Ferentz continue to double down on what isn’t working?

On the other side of the ball, will Phil Parker get his boys to refocus after tallying an absurd 19 missed tackles a week ago? Can the return of Sebastian Castro help this secondary player regain his position? Or are we on the brink of total collapse in this 2024 season?

We’ll find out soon when the Hawkeyes host the Northwestern Wildcats in Kinnick!
