Is Joan Getting Engaged on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’? Spoilers, Clues

Joan Vassos is happier than ever after getting another chance at love in the first season of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

Joan, 61, joined the “Bachelor” franchise when she appeared on the first season of “The Golden Bachelor” in 2023, starring Gerry Turner. Joan and Gerry had a promising start, striking up a conversation because they were widows (her husband John died of pancreatic cancer in 2021). But after connecting with Gerry during their one-on-one date in week three, she stepped away from the show to spend time with her daughter, who postnatal depression back home.

Joan is now making herself a new priority on “The Golden Bachelorette” and it seems to have worked in her favor.

“I came out of it such a happier person than I was when I went in,” Joan told Business Insider ahead of the series premiere. “And I didn’t know I wasn’t happy going into it.”

With the season just getting started, here’s what we can learn about whether Joan gets engaged at the end of “The Golden Bachelorette.”

Joan described her season as emotional, adventurous and fun

For Joan, being the Golden Bachelorette has presented some unique challenges. She previously said that her experience with Gerry on “The Golden Bachelor” opened her heart to the possibility of a future with another man.

“Emotional” was the first word that came to mind when asked how she would describe her season.

“We all discovered things about ourselves that we didn’t know we were going through, and we went through that journey together and we came out of it really well,” Joan told BI.

While the season will certainly have its serious moments, fans can expect Joan and her suitors to have fun as well.

“We’ve had some really fun dates that we probably never would have done on our own,” she said. “You usually do the vacations that you’re comfortable with or you do your trips with your friends that you’ve been on before. So we’ve done some really adventurous things.”

That sense of adventure ties in with Joan’s message to the fans.

“I want everyone to know that dating is fun,” she said.

“We just had a really good time together, enjoying each other’s company,” she added. “When you’re at this age and you’ve had a lot of life, you let go of the little things and it’s just about making each other happy.”

Reality Steve has already shared major spoilers for Joan’s season of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’

Warning: Stop reading now if you don’t want to know spoilers for Joan’s season.

According to Reality Steve, a regular blogger at Bachelor Nation, Joan ultimately ends up with one of the 24 contestants at the end of the season.

In a spoiler-filled Instagram post in August, Reality Steve revealed that four men will go on dates in their hometowns this season: salon owner Pascal Ibgui, insurance executive Chock Chapple, emergency room doctor Guy Gansert and senior sales manager Jordan Heller.

According to the blogger, Jordan is eliminated after the hometowns and Chock is sent home after the overnights — leaving Pascal and Guy as the final two. Pascal, however, eliminates himself because he isn’t in love with Joan.

Reality Steve reported that Guy, who is from Reno, Nevada, is the winner, but the blogger is unsure if the couple is engaged.

While Reality Steve has been well-researched and fairly reliable in his reporting on the Bachelor winners over the years, his reporting has sometimes been inaccurate. As such, all of his spoilers should be taken with a grain of salt.

Joan herself hasn’t yet revealed any details about her finale, so viewers will have to watch for themselves to see exactly how her emotional journey unfolds.

New episodes of “The Golden Bachelorette” premiere every Wednesday on ABC and stream the following day on Hulu.
