The defense, already battered, was further injured. The Bills scored on every drive until the game was down to 12 minutes, when they were finally forced to punt. Pederson’s team trailed early and it continued to pile up. Pederson criticized the team’s lack of response and lack of confidence to do so.

“I mean, it’s usually a little bit human when you go down that fast,” Pederson said. “Now you’re waiting for something to happen. You know, it’s a tough position to be in. We’ve got to be on the other side. We’ve got to make things happen sooner rather than later.”

The Jaguars finished with 239 total yards. They were 2 of 13 on third-down conversions. They gave it away twice. Pederson said he had to watch the tape and make his moves going forward.

“Well, I don’t necessarily think you’re going to go the other way,” Pederson said. “You’ve put a lot of time into it. But there’s got to be changes, whether it’s game design, personnel, everything’s on the table, let’s call it that, right? Those are all things that we have to look at, we have to look at as a staff and make the adjustments.”

Those adjustments will have to happen quickly. The Jaguars are at risk of finishing 0-4 next week, as they play a playoff team, the Houston Texans.
