Jalen Williams calls out $24 billion media giant for stupid mistake after OKC win vs. Clippers

The perfect Robin for Batman! But even Robin wouldn’t like it if the media didn’t get the facts straight, don’t you think? That was Jalen Williams after the OKC Thunder’s remarkable win over the Clippers tonight. With Oklahoma City losing its backup center, as well as Chet Holmgren, everyone had the demise of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander & Co. in their previous matchup. predicted early in the season.

But maybe they didn’t take Williams into account. We’ll get into the 23-year-old’s stunning performance tonight in a moment. But now let’s see what exactly he was offended by and who the perpetrator was.

The $24 billion cable and satellite TV network ESPN, in partnership with SportsCenter, shared a pretty interesting message. “The injuries to Chet Holmgreen and Isaiah Hartenstein made OKC’s starting five look different,” was written as a description while the message itself had a caption, “Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the tallest player in the Thunder’s starting five tonight.”

This is where Jalen Williams got quite upset. The second slide showed the starters for the matchup, with their height also listed. Williams was listed at 6’5. As soon as it caught his attention, the Denver native reshared the post to his story, hilariously calling out the media giant with just two words:

“I’m 6 feet tall.”

For those who may miss the story, here is the offending message.

Well spotted Williams! There’s no way anyone would dare mention him as a 6-foot-1 guard again, that’s for sure.

That said, why don’t we see how well the 2022 first-round pick did tonight?

Jalen Williams stepped up in the absence of key big men for OKC

With both Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein out, the Thunder went small with the help of the 6’6 Williams as their starting center against the Clippers. Despite his size, Jalen impressed as the second-highest scorer behind SGA, who had a whopping 45 points for the night.

For his part, the Santa Clara alum scored 28 points on super-efficient 11-for-18 shooting, including 2-for-3 from deep and a perfect 4-for-4 at the line. Additionally, he also led the team with eight boards and anchored a stout defense. With the Thunder’s big men expected to remain sidelined for at least a while, the team will likely continue with this smaller lineup.

Williams has already proven his defensive prowess by scoring more than 20 points in seven games in 11 games. He has previously filled in as a small ball center, but now OKC will rely more heavily on Jalen to continue what he did tonight. Considering how well he held up tonight against a big player like Ivica Zubac, there’s no doubt about how versatile and tenacious he can be.

As Jalen Williams continues to prove his adaptability and skills, it’s becoming clear that he’s a player no one should underestimate, especially those who don’t quite get his stats right!
