Jalen Williams injury update: OKC Thunder forward out vs Warriors after right eye injury

UPDATE: The Thunder held on for a 105-101 victory against the Warriors on Wednesday night in San Francisco.

Thunder forward Jalen Williams will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Warriors after suffering a right eye injury in the second quarter.

Williams was shocked after being hit in the right eye by Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga during a dunk attempt. Williams sat on the floor at Chase Center for a few moments before heading to the locker room with the OKC training staff.

In just 16 minutes of action Wednesday in San Francisco, Williams approached a triple-double with 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

Next up for the Thunder is an NBA Cup game against the Lakers in Los Angeles on Friday at 9 p.m.
